If you’ve ever dreamt of moving to Finland but money has been the barrier, say no more. The Finland Government Scholarship offers you a golden opportunity to move to Finland on a fully paid for scholarship and study at some of Finland’s most prestigious institutions of higher learning.
Finland Scholarships are offered for Master’s and Doctoral studies at Finnish research and arts universities.
The #FinlandGovernmentScholarship offers international students from outside the EU/EEA help in funding their Master’s university education in Finland by covering €15,000 in first-year tuition fee and a relocation grant of 5000€ as a minimum.
The 5000 euros is paid to a Finnish bank account after the student has arrived in Finland and registered as an attending student to the university.
The 5000 euros scholarship is paid once and only during the first year of the studies.
Many universities offer further scholarship options for the second year of master’s studies.

How to Apply for Admission at Universities in Finland
Application for Finland’s universities and universities of applied sciences (UAS) is done online at Studyinfo.fi.
Application methods and deadlines depends on each degree programme.
The Studyinfo.fi. joint application to study in Finland starting in September is arranged annually in January.
You can use a single application to apply to up to six degree programmes within the same application period.
Some degree programmes have their application periods open outside the joint application period.

APPLY TO PROGRAMMES AND FOR SCHOLARSHIPS
Start your application at Studyinfo.fi when the application period is open for the programmes you are interested in. Check the application schedule and other details with the university of your choice.Make sure you apply in time before the deadline.The universities offer scholarships for those non-EU/EEA students who are required to pay tuition fees.

The universities you have applied to will inform all applicants of their admissions results and those accepted will be guided how to accept the study place offer.Be careful however not to miss the deadline for confirming the study place.Check the result dates, confirmation deadlines and all other study-related details with the Admissions Services of the Finnish university you’ve applied to.
PREPARE FOR ARRIVAL
If you come from a non-EU/EEA country, you will need to apply for a student residence permit.Start you residence permit application as soon as you have received official confirmation on your admission!Make sure you have a valid insurance, apply for housing and buy your ticket to Finland.
FINLAND DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS
As part of the Finland Scholarship programme, Finland Fellowships is a funding option for non-EU/EEA students and researchers admitted to start their Doctoral studies at one of Finnish research and arts universities.
The Finland Fellowship contributes to the salary paid by your Finnish university and also includes a € 2,000 arrival grant. Check the Finland Fellowship details with your Finnish university – see list above.

- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Proficient in English
- Never studied in Finland
- Not currently enrolled in a Finnish degree program
