LinkedIn’s 2023 Jobs on the Rise list used unique LinkedIn data to uncover the 20 most in demand occupations in Canada over the past five years — providing insight into where long-term opportunity lies for those intending to get a job in Canada 2023.

Vacancies in Canada overall remained at historic highs, totaling 850,300 open positions at the end of 2022.
Particularly, the healthcare and social assistance, professional scientific and technical services, and construction sectors continue to experience persistent vacancies (despite increasing hiring efforts), with little to no reduction on a year-over-year basis.
