If you would like to register your AirBnB or furnished apartment in Kenya, following are the requirements as stipulated by the Kenya Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA) – a state corporation mandated by the government of Kenya to regulate all tourism activities and services in the country:
- Register with the Kenya Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA) by filling in the application form available from the website and paying a one time application fee of KES 1,000.
- Pay the annual license fee of KES 26,000 per unit
- Original deposit slips for both the application and license fees
- Your establishments’ tariff/rack rates
- Copy of title deed or lease agreement for the premises
- Have your establishment inspected by Kenya Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA) beginning 1st April 2021
