HOW TO REGISTER YOUR AIRBNB IN KENYA

If you would like to register your AirBnB or furnished apartment in Kenya, following are the requirements as stipulated by the Kenya Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA) – a state corporation mandated by the government of Kenya to regulate all tourism activities and services in the country:

  1. Register with the Kenya Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA) by filling in the application form available from the website and paying a one time application fee of KES 1,000.
  2. Pay the annual license fee of KES 26,000 per unit
  3. Original deposit slips for both the application and license fees
  4. Your establishments’ tariff/rack rates
  5. Copy of title deed or lease agreement for the premises
  6. Have your establishment inspected by Kenya Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA)  beginning 1st April 2021
