Beginning January 1, 2021, the Kenyan government is no longer issuing Kenya visa on arrival. You therefore have to apply for your Kenya e-visa and get it before boarding an aircraft to Kenya if you need a visa to visit Kenya. You must apply for your Kenya visa well in advance of your intended travel to Kenya. Fortunately you can apply for your visa to Kenya online and the Kenya e-visa costs only US $51 in total to get in 2 business days.

How to apply for Kenya evisa online

To apply for your e-visa to Kenya, simply log onto the Government of Kenya e-visa website and you will have your visa in 3 easy steps:

  1. Create an Kenya e-visa account via this Government of Kenya e-visa link. A single account is all you need for all your future evisa applications.

  2. Apply for your Kenya e-visa by filling out the application form and pay securely using your Visa or Mastercard

  3. If your Kenya e-visa is approved, the Kenya e-visa is made available to your Kenya e-visa account.

  4. Download the Kenya e-visa PDF from your Kenya e-visa visitor account.
  5. Print a copy your Kenya e-visa and bring it along with your passport to the immigration desk upon arrival to Kenya. Without a print out of your Kenya e-visa, you will be denied entry into Kenya

How to get a Kenyan visa on arrival

If for whatever reason you already left your country and are unable to apply for the Kenya evisa, but still want to enter Kenya via visa on arrival, then other option is to fly to Tanzania, Uganda or Rwanda and get yourself an East African visa on arrival then enter Kenya with the East Africa visa.
