Barbados: 12 months in paradise
“Barbados’ new visa lets you work remotely in paradise for up to a year.”
The island nation will start receiving applications for the Barbados ‘remote work visa’ dubbed as 12 Month Barbados Welcome Stamp beginning July 18th 2020.
Using the Barbados remote work visa, digital nomads and remote workers who usually work from home get a -year pass to live and work on the beautiful Caribbean island.
The Barbados remote work visa is open to applicants worldwide, and the visa costs either US$2,000 per person, or US$3,000 per family.

According to Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley:
The new 12 month Barbados Welcome Stamp is a visa that allows you to relocate and work from one of the world’s most beloved tourism destinations.
Length of stay: 12 months, issued on arrival to Barbados, and you are free to in and out during that period
Fee: US $2,000 for individuals and US $3,000 for families
Salary requirements: at least $50,000 per year over the 12 months you’ll be in Barbados and/or have the means to support yourself, your spouse and any dependents accompanying you, during you stay in Barbados.

- possess valid health insurance;

- provide evidence of enrollment in a Research, Undergraduate, Graduate or Doctorate Program, in the case of a Student;
- demonstrate sufficient means and/or continuous source of annual income without the need to engage in gainful employment in Bermuda.

Estonia
Beginning 1st August 2020, eligible location-independent workers can apply for Estonia’s new Digital Nomad Visa for remote workers.
Remote workers and digital nomads granted the Estonia remote work visa can live in Estonia for up to a year while legally working for their employer or their own company registered abroad.
Estonia remote work visa eligibility requirements
You can apply for Estonia’s digital nomad visa if you meet the following requirements
- You are able to work independent of location
- You can perform your work duties remotely using telecommunications technology
- You either:
- have an active employment contract with a company registered outside of Estonia,
- conduct business through your own company registered abroad,
- or work as a freelancer for clients mostly outside of Estonia.
- You can give evidence that your income met the minimum threshold during the six months preceding the application. Currently, the monthly income threshold is €3504 (gross of tax).

- Fill in the application form online. Print the form and sign it after completion. The state fee is 80€ for a Type C visa which allows for short term stays up to 90 days, and 100€ Type D visa or €100 for a Type D visa which permits a full year of continuous residence in Estonia and visa free travel to other Schengen territory countries.
- Make an appointment at your nearest Estonian Embassy or Consulate to submit your application.
- Make sure to bring copies of all required supporting documents.
Applications are typically reviewed not sooner than 15 days

If you are already legally in Estonia and would like to extend your stay, you can also apply for the Estonia nomad visa at any Police and Border Guard Board office. Just make sure you have enough time for the application processing period.
Georgia
On July 16, 2020, Georgia announced a new “Digital Nomad Visa” focused on freelancers and self-employed foreigners who want to live and work remotely in the country.
