In today’s article, I share with you a list of employers in Manitoba, specifically the Town of Altona and Municipality of Rhineland currently hiring foreign workers.

I also show you how to apply for the jobs and how to use your job offer to get Canada PR.

Immigrate to Altona/Rhineland, The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP)

Altona/Rhineland is located in southern Manitoba, a region with a long history of welcoming newcomers and integrating both immigrants and refugees into the social fabric of the community.

Altona/Rhineland is one of the communities participating in Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) program that creates a pathway to Canadian permanent residence for skilled foreign workers who want to live in Altona/Rhineland.

The RNIP pilot is designed to support economic development within Altona/Rhineland and strengthen the region’s local business’s capacity to develop and retain a skilled workforce.

As the Altona/Rhineland, Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) just like all other RNIPs is a community driven program, you need a job offer to apply for Canada PR through this pilot program.

Altona/Rhineland Community Specific Criteria

In addition to the Government of Canada’s Eligibility Criteria, SEED has created Community Specific Criteria to ensure we are focusing on our community’s greatest economic opportunities and best chances for candidate retention.

  1. Candidate must intend to live within the boundaries (as defined in the Ministerial Instructions) of the Town of Altona or Municipality of Rhineland.
  2. Candidate must successfully create a “Candidate Profile” on https://www.seedrpga.com/immigration-pilot to be able to apply for qualified job postings through the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot.
  3. The jobs must be qualified positions by employers located within the boundaries of the Town of Altona or Municipality of Rhineland (as defined in the Ministerial Instructions) that meet the Employment Requirements (as defined in the Ministerial Instructions section two (2)) will be posted on https://www.seedrpga.com/immigration-pilot

Altona/Rhineland Comprehensive Priority Points Grid

The Vetting Committee will assess your eligibility for community recommendation taking into consideration the priority factors outlined in the Comprehensive Priority Points Grid.

If you are among the top-ranking candidates, you will move onto further assessment including an interview to ensure you intend to reside in the community.

  1. Candidate has received a qualifying job offer in the sector of Agriculture and Manufacturing – Yes +20
  2. Candidate has received a qualifying job offer in the sector of Construction, Food Processing and Financial Services – Yes +10
  3. The job offer is from an established employer who has been operating a business within the boundaries (as defined in the Ministerial Instructions) of the Town of Altona or Municipality of Rhineland for a minimum of ten (10) years, or with a business that has invested a minimum of $250,000 capital within the boundaries (as defined in the Ministerial Instructions) of the Town of Altona or Municipality of Rhineland – Yes +10
  4. The job offer is from an employer who will provide the candidate with a workplace mentor for a minimum of six (6) months – Yes +5
  5. Job offer is in National Occupational Classification (NOC) skills
  6. NOC A, NOC B: +10
  7. NOC C:  +5
  8. Candidate possess a valid driver’s license from country of origin – Yes +5
  9. Candidate has lived as an adult (18 years of age or older) in a community with a population of 10,000 people or less, and located one (1) hour (travel distance) away from a large and densely populated urban area for a minimum of six (6) months – Yes +5
  10. Candidate has a family member and/or friend who is a permanent resident of Canada or a Canadian citizen and has been living within the boundaries (as defined in the Ministerial Instructions) of the Town of Altona and/or Municipality of Rhineland for a minimum of two (2) years
  11. Parents, siblings or children: +20
  12. Friend, grandparent, uncle, aunt, cousin, niece or nephew: +10
  13. Candidate has previously spent one (1) week or more within the boundaries (as defined in the Ministerial Instructions) of the Town of Altona and/or Municipality of Rhineland – Yes +5
  14. The candidate has a spouse/common-law-partner with work experience that could fill labour needs in the following industry sectors: Agriculture, Construction, Education, Financial Services, Food Processing, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare/Hospital, Manufacturing, Social Services, Retail, Technology, Transportation – Yes +10
  15. The candidate has a spouse/common-law-partner with post-secondary education that could fill labour needs in the following industry sectors: Agriculture, Construction, Education, Financial Services, Food Processing, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare/Hospital, Manufacturing, Social Services, Retail, Technology, Transportation – Yes +10
  16. The candidate is between the ages of 25 -38 years old as of the date the application for recommendation is received by SEED – Yes +10
