Villa Rosa Kempinski is of my favorite places for afternoon tea in Nairobi. Tucked away in Westlands just at the edge of Nairobi CBD, Villa Rosa is a haven of tranquility and the perfect place to escape the crowds in central Nairobi.
The K Lounge, an informal space an outdoor patio facing a narrow strip of garden serves afternoon tea daily from 3 pm – 6 pm.
K Lounge’ s atmosphere is cheerful, perfectly complimented by the climbing plants on the trellis partition and stone benches on the well-manicured carpet grass.
The classic afternoon tea package at Villa Rosa Kempinski starts from Kshs 2,500 ($25) per person.

Delicious afternoon tea specialties which include warm classic English scones served with fresh cream and jam, homemade cakes and pastries, and finger sandwiches are the Cherrie on the cake.
Their selection of teas from a selection by Ronnefeldt, a German distributor of tea leaves since 1823, a Kenya Tea Masala, and coffee from the beverage menu are perfect for feeling cozy when the weather turns.
For the Christmas season, Kempinski is offering you an afternoon tea package of: perfectly smoked salmon on rye bread, beef bresaola on focaccia, egg white sandwich, chicken, profiteroles, mince pies, santa macaroons, Kenyan rose cheesecake, Panna cotta, stollen, santa stick and festive caramel chocolate among other treats. This package will set you back Ksh 2,800 ($28) per person.
For an additional KShs 1,100 ($11) per person you get a glass of Veuve Clicquot champagne with your afternoon tea package at Villa Rosa Kempinski.
Afternoon tea at The Villa Rosa Kempinski is also great for photography. Great natural lighting at K Lounge makes it easy to take pictures of the table settings of gold cutlery and gold-edged china; as well as the exquisite treats which are served in a black mini chest with drawers look-alike with gold knobs and gold pastry tongs, which look great in photos.
