Hotel reservation in Argentina
You can make your Argentina hotel booking online via aggregation sites e.g. Booking.com or AirBnB
I love Booking.com as it has very many hotel selections that allow for allow free cancellations before a certain date and don’t ask for pre-payment.
This works especially in the unfortunate event that a visa is denied. Its also advantageous in that the visa may be granted all the same, but your circumstances change and you want to change hotels without cost implications.
I also use Booking.com to compare prices then head over to the hotel website to check if there’s a cheaper option before finalizing the booking.
The name on your hotel reservation and hotel reservation dates must match those of your flight reservation.
If you are visiting family members or friends, enclose an original letter of invitation certified by an Argentine Notary (“escribano público”) and by the Notary Association (“Colegio de Escribanos”). A copy of the DNI (Argentine ID) of the person extending the invitation is also required.

Argentina Tourist Visa eTA / AVE Online for Kenyans with US B1/B2 or Schengen Visa
If you are a Kenyan and already have either a valid US B2 Visa or valid Schengen Visa, you are eligible to apply for an Argentina Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA [AVE in Spanish]) instead of the traditional paper visas from the Embassy.
The ETA not only saves you time you’d have spent going to the embassy for a physical face to face interview, but it is cheaper as it costs only US$50 while the traditional paper visa costs US$150!!!1
The ETA (AVE) application process is also very simple and everything is done online including payment.
Once you submit your ETA application online, and it is accepted, you will receive your ETA (AVE) and payment confirmation, which you print and present to the immigration officer upon arrival in Argentina.
Yes, it’s pretty simple!
