The Paris 2024 volunteer programme is open to all, both in France and internationally, with only three conditions to apply:
- applicants must be over 18 years old on 1 January 2024,
- speak at least French or English,
- and be available for at least 10 days during the Olympic and/or the Paralympic Games.
On Wednesday 22 March, Paris 2024 opened the application portal for the volunteer programme for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
They want the group of volunteers to include at least 3,000 people with disabilities, in line with Paris’ drive to stage an event that is open to everyone.
A total of 45,000 volunteers will have the opportunity to live unique moments and experience the Games from the inside with the Olympic Games on 26 July to 11 August 2024 and the Paralympic Games on 28 August to 8 September 2024.
Being a volunteer for the Paris 2024 Games is the opportunity of a lifetime: to become the face of the Games and to experience from the inside the first Summer Games organised in France in a century.
Being a volunteer means:
- Experiencing the unique atmosphere of the Games: volunteers are the first people that athletes and spectators meet when they arrive at the Games. Paris 2024 volunteers will embody France’s sense of hospitality and values throughout the Games;
- Live an intense adventure as a team, sharing unique moments and emotions;
- Meet people from all over the world.
But also to train and gain useful experience for the rest of your career.

The 45,000 volunteers will be mobilised throughout France at all the official venues of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and will play a key role in all sectors of the event delivery including: welcoming and guiding spectators and accredited persons, assisting sports delegations, accompanying athletes to competition venues and press operations, transporting accredited persons, supporting timekeeping activities, participating in the distribution of equipment, and providing medical assistance, etc.
