You may have heard that with your US tourist visa on hand, you do not need a separate visa for some countries that you’d ordinarily need a visa for, if visiting for less than 30 days. Is this true? Of course yes!
With just your Kenyan passport alone minus any visas, you can only travel to 68 countries and territories. Either visa free or with a visa on arrival.
With a multiple entry US tourist (B1/B2) visa that you have used at least once, you can visit 16 additional countries.
Countries Kenyans can Visit with a US Tourist B1/B2 Visa
For most of the countries though, you must have used your multiple-entry US visa at least once. As usual, be informed that a visa is not a guarantee of entry. Entry is at the discretion of the immigration officer handling your case at the border point of arrival.

My personal Recommendation
While your travel strategy might involve starting with the visa-free or visa on arrival countries, my personal recommendation is that if you can, get a multiple entry US tourist visa. This applies especially if extended travel is part of that strategy.
Not only because it is your gateway to visit the United States on a whim but the ‘power’ it adds to your passport. And why not take advantage of the maximum US visa validity period for Kenyan passport holders that was extended to 5 years!
