What Cruise Photos You Should Take?

For most people, getting on a cruise will be a once-in-a-lifetime vacation, and therefore, capturing the memories is top priority.

But what pictures do you want to be sure not to miss on your cruise?

This therefore is a guide for 10 perfect cruise must-take photos on a cruise are essential to ensure for unforgettable memories:

Photos of the ship’s exterior

I prefer to call it a boat.

I am a “bara girl“. Which means I live in mainland Kenya so ships are not the kind of stuff I get to see every other day like those who live at the coast.

As I wanted to get it out of the way, I took this photo on the afternoon of my first day on the cruise as I was heading to board the ship.

Make a point to take pictures of the ship’s interior as well.

Photos on the ship’s interior

The sheer magnitude of a ship from its exterior is awe-striking and worth capturing.

But the magic is in its interior.

An all-time favorite for me were the grand sweeping staircases.

I took this photo on the night of the captain’s cocktail party.

The different elevations on the steps are ideal for group photos as well.

The brass railings, carpeted stairs and dramatic lighting of the Pullmantur Horizon ship made a great setting for an unforgettable photo on the night of the captain’s cocktail party. I couldn’t pass.

A photo of the ship’s wake

The most constant factor on any cruise is the water. And the sun, most times.

Staring out at the ship’s wake with cocktail in hand was one of my favorite pass times especially on days at sea.

It was on one of those evenings that I seized the opportunity to capture this mass of rolling and splashing wave of water with the brilliant hues of the setting sun for a backdrop.

Your favorite foods

Photos you must take on a cruise

Cruises are designed for people who love food.

You will find all sorts of delicious eats on board.

So whether its this delectable mousse dessert crowned with a generous dollop of strawberry sauce for a sweet and nostalgic finish to dinner; or the hot, juicy chicken streak from the outdoor grill; they all are served snap shot-ready.

Make sure to snap your mouth-watering favorite!

The Drinks

Of course!

As you snap away photos of all the mouth-smacking finger-licking foods on board, remember your thirst-quenchers as well.

Pullmantur’s Horizon sailing the Mediterranean had a wide range of drink options, including non-alcoholic ones.

But you will have to keep your camera handy for any unexpected photo opportunities that present themselves.

Like when these glasses of juice created a perfect backdrop to flaunt these sisters’ well manicured nails.

Ahem…

I will leave this one here…

You chilling on deck

You won’t want to forget the amazing memories you make while just chilling on deck.

I took this photo on our last day on board.

I figured the cruise was coming to an end so I may as well capture the final hours on board.

Who knows when next I will be sailing again!

Fun times on excursions

Days on land are one of the highlights of any cruise experience.

You not only got a chance to visit some places you’ve never been to before but also got a chance to cross some sights and activities off your bucket list.

In Valetta, Malta for instance, I got a chance to try fly boarding.

An activity that has been on my bucket list for the longest time. While I only managed to ‘fly’ for 2 seconds, I’m glad I faced my fears and tried it.

Views of different ports of call

The best place to capture views of the different ports of call is on the top deck of the ship at either departure or arrival.

I took this particular photo while the ship was leaving the port of Menorca.

Well, that’s it for today.

I hope this helps you to plan your must-take photo list for your next cruise!
